EnergyLab Archives

I have worked on EnergyLab ideas in variety of forms and levels over the past 25 years, some have come to life, others like Level 3 are just waiting for the right opportunity.

  • Level 1: Basic EnergyLab “hands-on” guided activities and experiments.
  • Level 2: Table, Desktop or Mobile EnergyLab units, augmented with sensors and data acquisition and control devices.
  • Level 3: Using “Buildings as Learning Tools”, accessing “read only” streaming data from a building management system (BMS), Gateway/Network Engines or IOT devices (Data: Weather, HVAC, Electrical, etc.). The EnergyLab time series stream data visuals shared on this website show that this is now possible in many other ways.

Here is a Level 2 table/desktop example I’ve built and shared over the years:

Including some of the original visual “Brainstorming” ideas around an EnergyLab Ecosystem.
